Birthday Inspiration

August 21, my birthday....
I received this wonderful gift from someone close to my heart..

and right after i signed the delivery receipt... i sat in my craft table and started playing with clay...
and with the "kilig" all over.. i was able to make new stuff..

have you heard about paper clay painting?   for more info please check this site:  http://mgmjacs.multiply.com/ , where i bought few pieces, i got addicted to it long before i discovered polymer clay...
below photos are some of the pieces i made.. and were sent to friends as gifts..

i used the same technique in my projects.. using 2 pcs needle or dotting tools..
here's the WIP ~ instead of using water to make the clay soft, i used KCM..

and the finished project.. after applying magic gloss...

I think plain is better.. what do you think?

Using Purpleluggage canes

more items.. adding cabochons...

i enjoyed working with the project and will make more soon...

by the way here are few stuff i made during the holiday

looking forward to another long weekend next week!

have a crafty day!

Another Trash to Treasure

It's summer time in the Philippines, where flowers bloom, and everything is green.. :)

Lets help save our mother earth ~ "Go Green" by recycling those trash and turn them into somebody's treasure! :)

Jill asked me if i can make another bottle cap jewelry just like the entry i made in P3's trash to treasure challenge.. i said Yes...

but this time i did not pressure myself, i just did what i love doing... flowers, pastels, green leaves, textures..  i enjoyed working with this project... i love the colors! they bring happy thoughts.. relieves stress..and make me smile just by looking at them :)

the challenging part is how to turn these cute flowers into a jewelry? . lol! i already made few pendants months back so its no longer appealing to me.. and i thought of my convertible accessories....

what do you think?

As bracelet.
hey! where are the bottle caps?????

ohhhhhh there they are!!!  painted with blue inka gold and sealed with future polish...

the other side

when worn... :)

yes you can wear it as necklace too!

how it looks like when worn...

Chain is detachable... you just need to attach the fresh water pearl chain and it will instantly turn into a necklace..

ive already made few convertible accessories..  and this one is my favorite...
i wire wrapped some fresh water pearls using stainless wire and turned it into chain..

now help me find the trash!

enjoy the summer!

Express yourself in four Inchies

P3 started the year with a bang! we just finished our January challenge called Apatchies.  Apat - a filipino word means four.. we were tasked to make 4 pcs inchies expressing ourselves.  we were not limited to try any particular technique or any particular theme.. we just had to show who we are... no rules.. well except for the size that 1 x 1 x 1/3"

Self expression? who am i? my inchies will answer you..

i grew up in the city.. no beach.. no lake, no river.. no garden and no nipa hut! these places that i only saw in books, in television... when i was young, my friends would brag about their province expriences in summer... I would ask them why they turned too dark? and they would simply say ahhh we went to the beach!... i envied my friends...

i love the beach..  i love watching the Little Mermaid, i love ariel, though i think shes too young to fall inlove..lol! i love sebastian.. i love the music... and i can watch little mermaid a hundred times and would still enjoy it over and over... so when i was asked by my fellow guild member about the project in my mind.. i said "beach!" without thinking.. i love the beach.. if i was not human, maybe id be a mermaid! lol!

i love nature.. i love green.... i dont throw my trash anywhere... i keep my bus ticket, candy wrappers, receipts, etc in my bag.. i support the  government campaign, "Go Green".

i love garden.. if given the chance, i would love to have a garden wedding and would use butterflies instead of doves... flowers and butterflies.. perfect match right?

and someday, id love to walk in the beach... buy some fish from the local fishermen, water my garden, cook for the family and rest in the nipa hut...  simple right?

anyways enough about me....
i used real sand from my brother's aquarium in the beach inchies... mixed it with Kato Clear Medium to get the beach effect. thanks to Roselle for teaching me how to make the boat.. and to LJ for reminding me that Sebastian is not a crab! hes a lobster and a crab is green and not red! lol (theres a funny story behind this project) i learned new techniques..  and i just love how the nipa hut turned out with the help of  mica powders...

this challenge made P3 girls high for few days... there are lots of ooohhhss and ahhhhsss.. i feel so lucky to be a part of this group.. the members are super duper talented! every inch is worth a look! and caused me sleepless nights. sounds exaggerated but true! check out our FB page and you will understand what i am talking about..  P3 Apatchies Challege .

enjoy!

Something Rectangular & Sparkly

You may be wondering why I love joining P3 challenges, especially swaps.
Well the answer is ~ it keeps my adrenalin rush!

P3 has great artists, I mean great… ahh they are my idols.. There are some members whom I consider aliens!  I don’t know how they do those small stunning piece of art with soo much details. Ahhhh how I wish I could have their fingers.. or even just an eye.. not to mention their creativity!

I join the challenges basically to challenge myself, would there be anything else? Lol! And I join swaps to receive something from one of these great artists and to challenge myself more… my rule is: if I am to receive something special, I need to give something special as well. Then there goes another step to more challenging challenge. Hehehe!
to make the story short, P3's challenge for December is Kris Kringle... we have 2 options: something rectangular and sparkly or something small and bronze, i decided to make the first one.

P3 guys know me… part of I so called challenging myself is learning new techniques… and I always make few projects before deciding what to submit…

Want to see what I am talking about?

here:

i worked on this on christmas day...  i used gold and black for the background, added some mica powder on the tree.... used silver clay for the moon and rhinestones as stars... indeed it is sparkly...  but it also has few bubbles... sigh.. and my friend laugh because he got confused if its a dog or a pig hanging on the swing! lol! so i decided to make another one...

i used polymer clay for the base and veins, dried flowers which i bought in nail art supply, and easy cast resin. i remember working on this 2 days before new year's eve. it is ok! but it doesnt look so special.. so i made another one..

The tin can was from panalpina- a gift from our suplier. it has 1gb flash drive. i was about to include the flash drive in our swap, but this project was a failure.

I used LP's Sutton Slice technique on this one... covered it with LP's magic gloss... i was happy with the result, but since LP's Magic gloss is too pricey, i used easy cast resin on the next coat.... too bad, ive put too much resin and it spilled! the connector is now locked.. havin touble opening it...

so i made another one, this one is bigger... i had fun working on this. took me 4 hrs to complete the multi colored sutton slice!  again covered it with easy cast resin... i was happy with the result... Perfect!    but decided to keep it.

i know i needed to make something special.. i already saw the 2 entries for the challenge.. they are Uber nice... i have to make something unique, and something my monita will treasure... then i saw my drill bit and Jennifer Cruz's needle tool on my table... hmmmm something useful... every artist would really love to receive something like these....

so i made one... using mokume gane technique. -  first, i covered the drill bit with wires, put few drops of CA to ensure they are attached, and covered it with scrap clays... then covered it with mocume gane slices... (i think i should make a  photo tutorial on this- let's see on my next post huh!)  well i had to put my signature on them so ive added few yellow flowers and veins..  (garden theme is my signature :) )

tada! i was happy with it.. the techniques are simple... but the project is useful so i guess my monita will love it!

want to see what i received in return?  Ghie's Dragon Compact Mirror! i fell in love the first time i saw it! and ive been wishing to swap with Ghie ever since i saw her works!  hihihi im sooo happy... she sent the mirror with some baked goodies... and she baked it specially for me.. hihih isn't it sweet? ;) Thank you soo much Ghie!

and oh here are the other entrries! happy viewing!
